Walking in the rain

Drenched in this pain,
A slow and measured steady dose by this life.
This life does not forgive,
Neither does the heart when it craves another.

Memories I can’t erase, escape, evade,
Colossally hanging over whats left of me,
Like Sun on bright days and
Moon-tattooed nights,
Stalking me closer than my own shadow.

Drenched in memories -- soul, heart, body, veins --
Sudden rush upon me,
Eternal longing for what we had and could’ve been,
Evermore lost in them I remain.

Regret, sorrow, pain
This sunken heart can no longer endure.
Illusions in a fantasy world
While walking in the rain,
You, my second chance,
You, my only hope
